Stuyvesant Art at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery

The following images of a stained glass window and a bust of Peter Stuyvesant at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery in  New York. The congregation formed a committee in 2017 to research the history of enslavement on the site of the church and to consider remedies and reparations at the church site, and in society.

Bust of Petrus Stuyvesant (Peter Stuyvesant) in the East Grounds of St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery in the East Village, Manhattan, New York City. The statue by Dutch sculptor Toon Dupuis was presented by Queen Wilhelmina of Holland and the Dutch Government on December 5, 1915
