Investors in slave ships financed construction of ships across New York, New Jersey and the New England states. The also financed specific voyages. We have indexed slave ships in three ways:

• Construction, identifying the investors financing the initial project, the location of the shipyard, and the numbers of enslaved people transported.
• Voyage investment, identifying the investors financing each voyage and New York, New Jersey and New England ports of call.
• Captains, identifying their voyages and New York, New Jersey and New England ports of call.

The following table presents the vessel names, investors and captains along with the numbers of transported persons.
